Cargo-XML messages are used for electronic communication between airlines and other air cargo supply chain stakeholders, such as shippers, freight forwarders, ground-handling agents, and regulators, as well as customs and security agencies. Core Transport documents such as air waybill, house waybills, manifest etc. commercial documents such as invoice, packing list etc. must be exchanged between the business partners form the movements of goods and flight.

IATA’s Cargo-XML Toolkit delivers the Cargo-XML standard to the air cargo industry. The significant changes to the 12th edition of the Cargo-XML Toolkit are the following:

  • New major versions of XFFM (version 4.00), XFHL (version 3.00), XFBL (version 3.00), XFSU (version 6.00), XFWB (version 5.00), XFZB (version 4.00) to make Content mandatory in OCI grouping element and change data types for Country and Currency with removal of embedded ISO lists.
  • Update of Code List 1.19 "Line Identifiers" with addition of 5 items to communicate the MRN and process to Customs
  • Update of Code List 1.100 "Customs, Security and Regulatory Control Information Identifiers" with addition of 2 items CC/WW
